2001-10-22 - 11:46 p.m. #92: No Need for The Son of The Return of My Daily Crack Note to self: Erk. I had a feeling something like this would happen. @_@ Hokay, I'd better just forget about writing the subject I had planned for today and instead concentrate on a sequel to the journal entries here and here. Ah, I managed to get myself out of this fix afterall.... Hopefully I'll get a post in before midnight, though. ^^;;; In the spirit of "My Daily Crack" and "The Return of My Daily Crack" here is the third installment! The Son of the Return of My Daily Crack! With utterly no improvements whatsoever and will take little to no thought to scribble down as I relay some of my most read webcomics! Yes, I am fudging this entry. I should be so ashamed of myself. Unless of course, I cause you to waste your time by going to the pages and flipping through the archives. In which case my mission has been fulfilled. North!: A webcomic series based upon the life of a couple of real life teenagers/adolescents as they go to the fabled convention Anime North in America. Sounds like fun, but I do wish the author would hurry up and get into the swing of a regular schedule instead of leaving us hanging on a single page for weeks at a time. It's drawn fairly well, but not THAT well: And that's a real shame when this is about the only thing going for it. It has a fairly straightforward sense of humour that lacks the character based charms of Megatokyo and the outright ribald, risque style of Exploitation Now. OIn the otherhand, it's completely free so I guess I don't really have a right to complain. ^^;;;; Sluggy Freelance: One of the best long running webcomics with a regular (and almost unbreakable) schedule and I completely missed it. Am I lax or what? This series has it all really: A cool cast of characters who are constantly changing and evolving from one story twist to another (all except for the two main protaganists: Torg and Griff, who more or less stay exactly the same no matter what happens....), entertaining and LONG story arcs that span several months or so, and a sense that anything and everything could happen in the course of the story. The author doesn't seem to be too scared about going on completely weird tangents, as well. But all of what I've just said doesn't do this webcomic justice, so go and take a looksee. And suffer the pain of nearly 100MBs of archived material! The Jar: What the heck is.... The Jar? Nobody knows. And the webcomic doesn't seem to be in a particular hurry to answer that question either. Instead, it concentrates on Real Weird Stuff(tm) that happens to the main previously-two-but-now-three protaganists who like violence and random mayhem in large doses. It is silly, that's all I can really say about it. WHOO, I'M A MONKEY! Oh, and it's drawn fairly well, too. And yaoi has never looked so good. heheheheheheheheh. 8-Bit Theater: Somewhat in the mold of Final Fantasy RPG themed webcomics such as Adventurers, 8-Bit Theater takes the concept one step further by making the strip using graphics from the early NES Final Fantasy games. Yes, by cutting and pasting character graphics from a game series unto a few appropriate backgrounds based on the same style, you too can have a webcomic! Though maybe not quite as funny and rife with in-jokes as this one, admittedly. But in any case, if you're an RPG fan and are old enough to remember back to the days of Four Light Warriors and the Search for the Light Orbs(tm), then this webcomic is for YOU! RPG World: Errrr.... Ditto above, only with completely drawn material free from direct references to the Final Fantasy series. And it is quite good indeed. And that's a wrap! All done in about half an hour! Gosh, that was weak. -_-;;;;; |
